sweet sweet song

I came across this video out of pure luck, browsing the internet for a song to add to my play list. And since I found it I can't stop listening to it. I especially like the introductory part of the video. Love enters our lives in many ways and touches us forever. For all of you in love, and for the ones who are still waiting for their love to appear ... Enjoy the video and the warm story behind it.

{A&R} special day

The wedding the next photos were taken at was one I will always remember: my first wedding. EVER! And what a beautiful couple to have as my first "clients". Adina and Radu were just amazing. Their love for each other was so intense that I could feel it in the air. Literally :) I took tons of pictures and a lot of them turned out amazing (although with such beautiful people it was hard for them to turn any other way). Here is a selection of moments throughout the day:

{E&M} Engagement Photos

This past weekend I did a photo shoot in the botanical garden in Cluj Napoca for an amazing couple: Elena and Marius. They met in med school in a city far far away from both their home cities, on the other side of the country. Having been colleagues since first year of college, helped them get to know each other better, but also put them in "weird situations" sometimes, as they both told me. However, as in almost every love story, their relationship had to go to the next level: Marius proposed on New Year's Eve. And  naturally Elena said yes, but also wanted to show off her beautiful ring, hence the photos :) The weekend we decided to do the photo shoot was a wonderful one, Sunday was a sunny almost spring day in the middle of the cold winter. I am sure their wedding day will be 10x more beautiful and I am looking forward to it.

Enjoy the photos and Happy Tuesday!

{D&V} special day

As promised, I am posting the photos from the last wedding I shot. Dumitrita and Virgil's wedding was special for me. Not only because I know them both, but because they showed me how fun and relaxing shooting a wedding can be.

Dumitrita is just amazing, with her smile captivating everybody and filling the rooms she is in. Her joyfulness is perfectly complemented by Virgil's calm making them an amazing couple to be around. I can not thank them enough for offering me the opportunity to document their special day.

I was happy to be able to capture all the moments of the wedding, from Dumitrita's getting ready to the last dance. And boy did I end up with a lot of photos!!! A lot of gorgeous photos from which it was hard to choose only some to post here, but I hope I am doing them justice by posting these.

First photo

This is a blog about my photo journey and so far I haven't shared any of my photos. I have done two weddings already, from which I will post the photos soon, and I have an engagement session planned. So I am thinking of a really short sneak preview of what my work consists of:

Good news :)

This morning I woke up with an idea. What if I think of all the people I know that got engaged, and propose an engagement session to them. It's a win-win situation: they get lovely photos to show their friends (and not to forget memories) and I get to practice taking photos of people in love (that is my goal for this year).

And I did found somebody. I emailed Elena (used facebook to be exact) and she replied that she'd be glad to do it. Yeyyy :) Now all I can think about is the photo session. I want it to be perfect, so I make lists in my head with locations, poses, ways to direct the couple during the session, oh my, it will be something. And since it will be my first engagement session ever, it will be memorable for sure :) in a good way, no matter what will happen. I know that in the end I will learn and improve my photos even if I make mistakes. Because mistakes are part of the learning process. And I am prepared to make a lot of them :) as long as the end result is better photos that make people happy

My resolutions for 2011

I haven't had time to think about my new year's resolutions until now. Actually, this is the first year I am thinking of resolutions...maybe because we don't do new year resolutions in my culture...or maybe because it is easier to just go with the flow and not have anything to look back to at the end of the year.

But this year will be different! It will be different from so many points of view that I myself forget them :) back to the resolution: there are many I can list, but I settled only on a couple. So here they are:
  • 2011 is the year of dreaming - the year that I will allow myself to think I can be better, I can succeed, I can take great photos and start a business: taking photos of people who are in love.
  • Brush up on Photoshop - yes, it's related to photos, but I've decided to make 2011 the year of great photos, so I'm planning on starting a Photoshop class, or a tutorial, or whatever I can find that fits in my hectic daily schedule.
That's it for my 2011 resolutions. Maybe I'll revise the list, or I'll decide to stick to just these two. Either way, I hope that at the end of 2011 I'll be able to look back and smile :) happy that I chose the right things to pursue.

And so it begins...

I have been thinking of starting a blog for a while now. And even though I am still not fully convinced I should be doing it, I've decided to take the plunge and start up this blog where I will be documenting my whereabouts in the photographic world.

So far starting the blog has been a "journey": little did I know how hard it is to settle on a layout, a color, gadgets and so on...but for now I'm good. I am happy with the way it looks and hopefully it will stay this way for a while. This whole design-your-blog-in-3-easy-steps is understated, and has been more than challenging. But I'm all for challenges :) That's how I started photography in the first place - as a challenge to myself: first as a challenge to master my point and shoot, then to move to my professional camera, and begin knowing the techniques and improve my photos with everyday that passes by. And I'm still challenged by it. Although I began more than 2 years ago, there is so much I have left to learn and this blog will be the witness to all my learning, to my good days and bad days, to my successes and sometimes failures.
